To give students a hands-on overview of the Virtual Production process. 

 

Week 1 | Introduction to Unreal Engine. 

Learn to navigate Unreal Engine’s Interface with an overview of specific features needed for Virtual production | explore cinematic concepts |  Level Sequence | materials editor  | LIve link | Blueprints and much more.

 

Week 2 | Tracking Systems. 

Setup and Calibration of camera tracking system | Configure Live Link. Overview of different types of tracking systems | Discuss tracking methods and systems.  

 

Week 3 | Setting up Node

An overview on configuring and connecting render nodes |  An introduction to networking, and  syncing machines to project a seamless image | Syncing Camera, processors and nodes for seamless projection. 

 

Week 4 |  In-Camera-VFX. 

A discussion on best practices | Set up a stage computer | Configure LEDs panels using processor software | Calibrate Tracking system | Manage and calibrate Switchboard | Setup and connect multi user to multiple nodes for | Overview on building web apps for simpliying stage controls.

 

Week 5 |  Real-Time compositing

Discussion on Real-time compositing techniques |  Learn how to integrate greenscreen, calibrate trackers, and integrate unreal engines for real-time compositing. |Discussion calibration techniques | Discussion Green Screen Light techniques. 

 

Week 6 | Virtual Camera

Build a virtual camera using Camera AKS and vive trackers | Set up a virtual camera in UE5. Discussion about Real-time animatics | Animate and record pre-recorded actions. 

 

Week 7 |  Motion Tracking

Motion tracking techniques | Discussion on best practices  | Introduction on Motion capture software | Hardware requirements | Animate Metahuman using motion capture techniques. 

 

Week 8 | Final Project.
